Cape Cod Wedding - Falmouth Harbor May 15, 2015
It was a Pinterest-worthy wedding on Falmouth Harbor in Cape Cod, Massachusetts for Kayleigh and Bob. Against the backdrop of the Atlantic, the couple joined their lives together in front of family, friends and their dog Bruin.
For their May wedding, the couple rented a summer house with beach access and a great water view to host the reception. Their guests could celebrate with a lavish dessert bar and plenty of passed hors d'oeuvres throughout the evening to keep energy levels up for a night full of music and dancing led by the couple to a playlist of the couple's devising (with a little help from their friends).
The bride brought the spirit of a Cape Cod wedding to life with her DIY decor with crafts that painted the New England rustic with a touch of elegance. Items included hand painted signs directing guests to the important sites (the ceremony, the reception and the drinks); weathered cranberry crates; and charming bouquets of flowers. A particularly clever touch came with the men's boutonnieres, these sparkling paper flowers were accented with a twine wrap that concealed a magnetic fastener to minimize sore thumbs from pins. These were the kind of accents that every wedding photographer dreams about finding in a wedding day.
Bridal fashion was a scintillating blush trumpet gown covered in an elaborate pattern of crystal with matching shoes (that were mostly for show since no sane bride wants to walk down the beach in heels). The bride accented her wedding dress with a cathedral veil that proved to be a stunning accessory in the ocean breeze, casting a dramatic arc through the air when it was time for her and the groom to sneak away for their Cape Cod bridal session.
Congratulations Kayleigh and Bob. I hope the rest your life together is at least half as beautiful and fun as your Cape Cod wedding, because it was a privilege to be part of your celebration.
