Ozzie and Nick - Salem Willows Pride Engagement Photography

Sometimes when I work with couples I have to remind them that it's okay to be affectionate. It's understandable, not everyone has a lot of experience in front of the camera and you feel so nervous and awkward about what kinds of weird things your face could be doing (which is why an engagement session can be just the right level of exposure for camera-shy couples) but Ozzie and Nick didn't have any of that.

We got together as the sun was setting over the Salem Willows, on a beautiful day during Pride as the park was crowded but it was like the pair were in their own little bubble as the cool breeze came out over the harbor. It was a pleasant stroll along the waterfront, clambering over boulders to get a dramatic view across the water while the sun fell and cast everything into beautiful warm gold.

The Willows, when you can find parking, is one of those real gems for an engagement session because there are so many different scenes you can create in such a small area. If you're lucky you can get some cute candids at the arcade (though be sure to get permission first), classic romantic shots in the park, clambering down on the rocks against the lapping waves of the ocean, and maybe starring in your own drama on the stage.
