Mike and Kristen knew from the start that they wanted a day that felt classic and easy—something joyful, relaxed, and grounded in a place they loved. Their Plymouth wedding had all of that and more.
Kristen began her wedding day in the most meaningful place of all—her childhood home just outside Brockton, Massachusetts. The house was buzzing with energy from the moment I arrived: sisters, cousins, neighbors, and friends weaving through rooms filled with old photos, family keepsakes, and the kind of memories you can feel in the walls.
It was that perfect kind of chaos—the joyful kind. Hair and makeup kits covered the dining room table, flower girls twirled through the living room in tulle, and Kristen’s mom made coffee while fielding a dozen questions at once. In the middle of it all was Kristen, calm and glowing, taking it all in.
There’s something special about getting ready in a place that holds your history. Every doorway and hallway seemed to tell a story, and it gave the morning a beautiful, emotional weight before we headed to Plymouth for the ceremony.

The John Carver Inn in Plymouth MA welcomed guests just steps from downtown. One of the best parts of choosing this venue is its location—you’re right in the heart of one of New England’s most charming waterfront towns.
After their ceremony, Mike and Kristen took a stroll through downtown, letting the pace of the day slow down. The cobblestone streets, colonial-era buildings, and the breeze coming in off the harbor all added to the atmosphere. We even grabbed a few spontaneous shots along the way.
For portraits, we made our way to Brewster Gardens, a tucked-away gem just a short walk from the inn. It's one of my favorite locations for wedding photography in Plymouth—lush, quiet, and naturally romantic.
The two of them slipped away from the crowd and took a breath beneath the trees. The summer light filtered through the leaves while they walked along the brook, laughing and occasionally stopping to just hold each other for a minute. It was peaceful, real, and full of joy—the kind of portraits that feel like memories, not poses.

Back at the John Carver Inn, the ballroom was filled with warm light, clinking glasses, and the happy din of a room full of people who truly love the couple they came to celebrate. The staff handled every detail smoothly, the food was fantastic, and the dance floor stayed busy long after dessert.
For guests staying on-site, the evening ended with a simple elevator ride upstairs. For everyone else, downtown Plymouth offered easy parking and plenty of post-party spots to unwind.
