Your Engagement Session - Part 1: What's Your Story
Engagement photos? Once thought a relic of a bygone age, engagement portraits have seen something of a renaissance in the past few years. Fueled in party by social media, engagements have become a must have in the build up to your wedding day.
Your engagement session with Ryan Richardson Photography is half ice-breaker (building a tower out of straws is optional), half modeling boot camp and half adventure. So how do you get ready for such an amazing experience?
Modeling on the Move: Tips for Your Lifestyle Session
Whether you're going for urban glamour in the streets of Boston, or are flirting with rural chic in New Hampshire; New England offers plenty of beautiful opportunities for location and lifestyle portraiture.
Location shoots are all about being inspired by the moment. To have a successful shoot you have to be ready to take advantage of every opportunity to get the shot, and these tips will help.
Changes Pt. 1 - New England Wedding Photography Travel Fees
How much will it cost to get Ryan Richardson Photography to my wedding?
This question, or something like it, is usually tacked on to every inquiry that passes through my inbox. It's probably second only to people asking how I got so talented and charming (and would I like to shoot their cute DIY backyard wedding for free). Although I left this question off my article "5 Questions For Your Wedding Photographer"), it's a great question to put in front of any wedding photographer.
For 2014, we're going to be eliminating most of our travel fees to make it much easier to truly be a New England Wedding Photographer (rather than merely a Boston wedding photographer, Cape Cod wedding photographer or Rhode Island wedding photographer). So whether you're tying the knot in Nashua or getting married in Newport, there won't be any surprise fees for mileage (mostly).
Bridals in the Snow - Massachusetts Bridal Photography Session

First there wasn't any snow to play with for our Winter bridal shoot, but then there was just too much snow throughout New England. But we finally got together with model Chelsea to shoot a few bridal images after the perfect snowfall South of Boston. It was cold but beautiful and she was so game to get out there without any sleeves and freeze for a bit of Massachusetts bridal photography and I hope you enjoy these as much as we did making them.
Top Three Wedding Songs of 2012: A Retrospective
Normally at the end of the year, we like to look back at all of our wonderful Massachusetts Wedding Photography from the season and just pick out a few favorites and talk about them. This year, we're going to mix it up and talk about the music (so as not to invoke the ire of any clients who might feel slighted because it's not their dress or cake that made the entirely arbitrary cut, also I feel like punting this and just posting Youtube links). These are three songs that got people moving on the dance floors in 2012 in no particular order.
