A Nantucket Wedding: Nicole and John

In the company of their closest friends and family (and their dogs), John and Nicole exchanged their vows on the beautiful little island of Nantucket on May 7, 2011. Although legally married the night before, no ceremony is truly complete until that joy and love is shared with the people closest to you.

The ceremony was held at a little set of cottages just off the water where John and Nicole had spent many of their summers together over the past few years. Before exchanging their vows, the couple brought their friends and family together to share the story of their love from the moment they met on a bus in elementary school (which neither of them rememberd) to a 2004 meeting at Bickfords. After the ceremony, the couple had time for photos and then whisked their friends off to a dinner on the island to celebrate the occassion.

For us it was a great change of pace from the typical wedding, where stress levels might run high and there's a lot less time to spend with the couple and get to know everyone at the celebration. There's something special about Cape Cod weddings that just melts some of that typical stress away. We also couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day in a more beautiful setting, because the island was bedecked with hundreds of flowers left over from the previous week's daffodil festival.
